A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our Summer on the Savanna Day Camp and B3 Pollinators Program, July 6 -24th, such an amazing success! 🌿🎉

What an incredible Summer on the Savanna! 🎉🌿

This summer, more than 20 youth traded screens for sunshine as they explored nature, discovered wildlife, built new friendships, and learned through hands-on adventures in the savanna. We were thrilled to welcome campers from near and far—including California, Dallas, Kankakee, and communities throughout the region! Under the fantastic leadership of Christine Foster, our amazing camp counselors kept everyone engaged with fun, educational activities that made every day a new adventure.

A special thank you to CITGO and local supporters Theresa White and Stephany Hammond for ensuring our youth enjoyed nutritious meals throughout camp. We are also deeply grateful to our outstanding activity facilitators, volunteers, and partners whose passion, knowledge, and creativity inspired our young explorers every day.

We wrapped up camp with an unforgettable fishing adventure sponsored by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), with transportation generously provided by the Pembroke School District—the perfect ending to three weeks of outdoor exploration and discovery!

Watching our children's curiosity grow, their confidence blossom, and their appreciation for the natural world deepen reminds us why this work is so important.
