JOHARI COLE-KWELI

Board President

Johari Cole Kweli  is a sustainability professional mentored by nature,  ancestral wisdom, and years of interdisciplinary engagement. Her home is Pembroke Township, IL. As a longtime contributor to the community,  local schools,  and organizations, she is a passionate driver of 21st Century  STEM, environmental education, and stewardship. For over  25 years, she and her family have dedicated their lives to  organic farming and local food access issues, specifically  in low-income communities and communities of color. She and her family host on-farm research, internships, Ag and Eco-Tourism,  and environmental engineering camps for next-gen  scientists, environmentalists, and farmers. Johari is a doctoral candidate in STEM Education and currently work as a consultant in sustainable community  development, circular economies, and synecological relationships.
